USCIS Provides Updates for H-1B and H-2B Visa Availability – April 27

USCIS has provided updated reports for the amounts of cap-subject H-1B received for Fiscal Year 2013 and H-2B visas received for the second half of Fiscal Year 2012. Both reports are current up to April 27, 2012.

According to USCIS, a total of 29,200 cap-subject H-1B petitions and 12,300 H-1B petitions for petitioners with advanced degrees have been received. Each year a total of 65,000 cap-subject and an additional 20,000 master’s-exempt H-1B visas are available.

USCIS also reports that a total of 24,378 petitions have been received toward the 33,000 available cap-subject H-2B visas for the second half of the fiscal year. Out of these, 21,578 have been approved and 2,800 are currently pending.
